Painting with the angels

This is my second piece of mandala painting - Angel Wings, which was created in Jan 2005. Angels are spiritual beings that communicate and interact with people here and now. They are serving in just about every capacity imaginable, from helping us tend to the care and health of our body, to finding parking spaces, passing tests, mending relationships, cleaning up oil spills and stopping wars. Angels are messengers of light. While Spirit is formless, angels are the essence of the Creator in form, vibrating at spiritual frequencies that are not usually visible. They appear to have wings because the light radiates out from their being in rays or waves that look like feathers. Their nature brings profound changes that can actually transform a person's body and soul. The resulting changes are often called miracles. Everyone has guardian angels. When we open ourselves to hear our angels' messages, every aspect of our lives become more peaceful.

There are 7 angel wings on the mandala painting. The 7 is related to harmony. It stands for the entirely on an already clearly material level - thus God wrought the entire Creation in seven days. There are seven classical planets, the seven periods of life. The ancients considered the 7 a mystical number.

Mandala journey begins....

In Dec 2004, I got a chance to attend a Mandala Painting Workshop without knowing what mandala is. It was my first time to create a big acrylic painting. After a 4-day workshop, I completed my first mandala called "Tree of Life". Unlike formal art training class, no painting experience is neccessary to learn mandala painting. In fact, everybody could paint mandala, which resonates to what I believed - Everyone is an Artist.

Mandala painting, for me, is a meditative process which allows me to get in touch with my heart. I realized that "mind as a skillful painter". Imagine canvas is the outside world, our thoughts and feelings are colors and brushes. The painting is a reflection of what we believed and desired to see. It is absolutely our free will and responsibility of choosing our life paths. Mandala painting guides me to remember who I am - a creator of my own destiny. We could change the world only by shifting the perception on how we see ourselves.

"Mandala found me!". I listened to my inner voice and followed a different path which makes my heart sing. I have no idea on what would happened next. The truth is I trust this is the path toward self awakening.
